SOUTH WEST ROSS DEER MANAGEMENT GROUP

The Red Deer is Britain's largest land mammal and has no natural predators. Management the Deer population is co-ordinated by the South West Ross Deer Management Group, covering all the estates in the area between Glen Torridon in the north to Glen Carron in the south and from Applecross in the west to Achnasheen in the east.

Shooting takes place on the local estates in the Autumn.

Main Stag Season - September to mid-October.
Hind Season - mid-October to mid -February.

During these times, for your own safety and to help the estates with their deer management tasks, it would be appreciated if you could :
1. Avoid areas where stalking is taking place.
2. Seek information in advance so that you can plan your visit to avoid disturbance to stalking.
3. Follow any local guidance on the day.
4. Stay on footpaths, particularly during the stag stalking season.

All members of the Deer Management Group would be pleased to recommend walking routes which will enable you to enjoy the area.
